The Gardens

Kells Bay Gardens
Overlooking Dingle Bay and boasting a range of habitats from a sub-tropical paradise to river walks and waterfalls, our beautiful gardens are open to visitors all year round.

The Palm &
Succulent Garden
Overlooking the bay, hosting an array of mature palms and Yuccas this garden also has a wonderful selection of succulents. A lovely spot for gardeners and non-gardeners alike to enjoy from the terrace to the front of the House.
The Ladies'
Walled Garden
This is not your average Victorian walled garden. Set over three levels, the paths lead off in all directions under a canopy of monster tree ferns including the “Mother” tree fern, past decorative plants and into the surrounding landscape. A lovely place to lose time in.
The Primeval Forest
The Primeval Forest owes its hundreds of mature tree-ferns to the wind scattered spores from the “Mother” tree fern in the Ladies Walled Garden. It is now the largest tree-fern forest in the northern hemisphere. A sight worth seeing.
The Cliff Walk
Take the Cliff Walk for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains as the beauty of Dingle Bay opens up before you. Surprise wood sculptures meet you along the way giving this walk an added twist.

Gardens Map
From the walled garden, cliff and riverside walks to the lush palms and tree ferns and a step back in time in the primeval forest, our garden collection will captivate you every step of the way.

The Bamboo Glade
Stroll through the Bamboo Glade filled with bamboos of the Americas and Asia. Listen to the soothing sounds of the breeze as it blows through the bamboo and sit in our Wishing Chair carved from a fallen tree, as you watch the river tumble down over the rocks. A magical walk.
The Gunnera Pool
Majestic giant rhubarb-like leaves, peaty black water, dragonflies perched on water lilies, fish jumping and even a pterodactyl overhead, all come together to make the Gunnera Pool a special oasis.

The River Ramble
Follow the fast flowing water dotted with moss covered stones and ferns from the Americas and Australia on its banks, as you take the River Ramble and soak up the rich sound and colour of your surroundings. See it all from a height via the Skywalk, Ireland’s longest rope bridge.
Waterfall Way
This wonderful walk takes you on a loop over the waterfall, then down on the boardwalk over the bog and underneath the waterfall, taking in plants from Australia, New Zealand and beyond. A great way to see a range of habitats.
